Help to translate 360cities into YOUR language!

Postby Jeffrey Martin » Wed Oct 07, 2009 1:11 pm

(Ok - not 100% of the pages on 360cities are now possible to be translated, but most of them are....) If you want to see the home page, image pages, and the rest of the site, in YOUR language, you can now help us :-) If you're not already signed up as a translator, please email me at jeff@360cities.net. If you're already a translator, please feel free to start translating any or all parts of the website.

To start translating the site, you have two options.

    1.    You can go to your translator page (on www.360cities.net/account there is a menu 'translations' - go there and select your language) and add your translations there. All the available translatable texts are there.

    2.    You can turn the translations module on, and translate most of the text of the application inline.
To turn the translations module on, go to your account pages, and in the header you will see a new menu item labeled 'Translations'. Expand it and click on "Turn on". To deactivate it, do the same thing and click on 'Turn off'.
With the translations on, you will see that some texts have an icon next to them. If you click that icon, an inline window where you'll be able to add your translation will pop-up. Some other texts are only accesible by the big inline window on the left. Both inline windows are draggable. If they don't allow you to see some element of the page, or if they are under the flash player, you can drag them around the page.

Again, if you want to help the translation process, please email Jeffrey!
